Cremona Contemporanea was born with the aim of enhancing Cremona’s historical and artistic heritage through a dialogue with contemporary art, strengthening the city’s image as a place of culture, quality, and forward-looking design. Since 2023, the initiative has transformed Cremona for one week into a widespread, free, and open exhibition route, involving historic palaces, private spaces, and venues that are not usually accessible. This itinerary brings together artworks conceived in relation to the sites that host them and invites both residents and visitors to rediscover Cremona through a cultural journey that highlights its history, architecture, and potential for regeneration. In this way, an immediate relationship is activated between the public and the heritage, fostering participation, dialogue, and a deeper awareness of the cultural value of the territory. Over its first three editions, the event has shown steady growth, exceeding 20.000 visitors per year during the opening week, with a qualified audience from Lombardy, the rest of Italy, and abroad, as well as significant attention from national media.
